Tony’s first, 34-year career was as a leading Australian corporate tax advisor. After starting his career at Price Waterhouse, Tony spent five years working in Westpac’s group taxation department. Upon returning to Price Waterhouse, Tony became a tax partner in 1996. In 2003, Tony joined Greenwoods & Herbert Smith Freehills as a Director and was the Managing Director of the firm between 2011 and 2018. During his time at Greenwoods, Tony was the lead Director on a number of the firm’s major clients including BHP, Macquarie Group and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. His areas of tax expertise included banking and financial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and transfer pricing.

Although not a valuer, Tony had to regularly grapple with the intersection of valuations and taxation law throughout his first career.

After completing a Master of Science in Coaching Psychology in 2019, Tony commenced a second career as a company director, executive coach, mentor and leadership consultant. He is also a part-time academic in the MBA program at the Australian Graduate School of Management, University of New South Wales.
